Case Study
#1
Client: PHOTOWORLD MAGAZINE
Assignment: Redesign
the cover and inside pages of an
internationally distributed consumer
photography magazine with the primary
goal of increasing newsstand sales.
Cover Challenge: (1)
Create a new name for the magazine.
(2) Get readers to actually “see” and
ultimately pick up the magazine from
the very crowded newsstands of Barnes & Noble
and other upscale book/magazine retailers.
Inside Pages Challenge: Upgrade
the look, usability and navigation
of the pages.
Outcome: Responsible
for entire project, from concept to implementation.
New cover design increased newsstand sales
by 67%. Was then asked to lead a team to
redesign the entire magazine, front to
back. PhotoWorld Magazine has since doubled
its subscription base and was recently
sold for a healthy profit. |
